Goodnight. I love you.

“But when I turned to face grief I saw that it was just love in a heavy coat.”

Shannon Barry

“Goodnight, I love you” is an ongoing series of gelatin silver prints focused on a profoundly personal and highly guarded portion of my life: my grief. The work began as a series of images of my car inherited from my late father, which has always been a safe space that carried me through my young adult life. However, the photos soon became repetitive, prompting a pivot towards an abstract timeline of my journey with grief. This body of work represents the realities and emotions often felt when experiencing memory within the context of grief and childhood trauma.
